OK, now we’re ready for the one attraction that surprises most people: America’s National Churchill Museum. Pretty cool, huh? It’s located on the beautiful campus of Westminster College. “Why is this located in Fulton, Missouri?” you are probably asking. Well, in 1946, Churchill came to the college and during his visit delivered his famous “Iron Curtain” speech! Since then, thousands of Churchill’s personal belongings, speeches, artworks, and mementos have been collected and are displayed for history buffs and curious spectators. Outside on the grounds of the museum is a sculpture made from large sections of the Berlin Wall. And the sculptor? None other than Churchill’s granddaughter, Edwina Sandys.

Check out this great video clip by Missouri Life to learn more about this wonderful attraction. And bonus, this year is Winston Churchill’s 150th birthday. So, plan your stop this season to check out all the special events planned to celebrate the immense contributions this legendary man has made to the world. A note about your visit to the museum: This summer, as part of the continued preservation of the museum, the church above the museum will not be accessible for viewing. This is part of an ongoing project to preserve the 17th-century church that houses the museum. The lower-level museum and the outdoor remnants of the Berlin Wall will still be fully accessible.
