Stay Warm the Callaway

It’s that time of year. Cabin fever has set in. We want to be out, but don’t want stray too far from home. Who knows what the weather is going to bring? It could get into the 70s or hit sub-zero. (It is Missouri, after all.)

Not to worry! We have a list of “wintertainment” ideas from chocolate crawls to murder mystery dinners on our calendar of events. You can also chase away the winter blues at one of the following hot spots.

The best way to warm-up is from the inside out with an ooey, gooey, hand-tossed slice from Brooklyn Pizza in Fulton. Choose your own toppings or one of their specialty pies like the “Missouri Pie” with ground beef, pork, green peppers and onions.

Crane’s Country Store in Williamsburg is famous for boots, britches and bullets, but you’ll also discover a toasty, wood-fired, pot-bellied stove to thaw the winter chill. Plus, you can shop a wide variety of warm-weather gear including hats, gloves, socks, coats and overalls from brands like Carhartt, Filson and Smartwool!

It may be cold outside, but it is cozy inside at Serenity Valley Winery in Millersburg. Set on 60 lush acres, Serenity Valley Winery offers fabulous views and tasty wines that can be enjoyed inside their newly expanded indoor space. Check out the website for upcoming events or to book a private event.

While away the winter months antique shopping at Rock Garden Antique Barn in Millersburg. Peruse a large selection of quality furniture, primitives, graniteware, dishes and collectibles in a climate controlled, rustic setting. Buses welcome!

Shake off the winter blues with a steamy hot (or iced) Starbucks beverage! The Playhouse Café in Fulton has a full menu of Starbucks drinks including lattes, Frappuccinos, and delicious drinks! Enjoy with made-from-scratch breakfast, lunch and Saturday brunch options or order online to-go.
