Many consider November and December the most wonderful time of year in Fulton and Callaway County. From live music and shopping to holiday events – don’t miss the fun!
· Nov. 25 - Dec. 4: Grae Studio is opening the doors of Fulton’s historic train depot for the 2nd annual Fulton Christmas Market, featuring distinctive shopping, food trucks, fresh cut trees and more. Proceeds benefit restoration and preservation efforts of the building that was deemed “an ornament to the town” in the early 1900s.
· Dec. 1 and Dec. 4: Callaway Singers present “Sounds of the Season” at the Brick District Playhouse. The Thursday show is at 7 p.m. The Sunday show is at 2 p.m.
· Dec. 2: America’s National Churchill Museum hosts High Roads to the Holiday, an evening of holiday merriment from 6 - 8 p.m., including carols and cookies in the beautiful Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury.
· Dec. 3: Enjoy the toe-tapping, stomp grass sounds of the annual Homegrown Holiday concert by the Kay Brothers featuring Molly Healey.
Enjoy the Field of Joy Holiday Lights starting December 1. The City of Fulton Parks & Recreation teams up with the Salvation Army to turn Veterans Park into a holiday wonderland. The drive-through lighting display is accompanied by a field of 100 individually sponsored Christmas trees.
Callaway County is a haven for shops that will surprise and delight.
For your favorite quilter, visit Rooster Creek Company on Old Highway 54 in Holts Summit. It starts with an extensive selection of quilting materials and supplies, and a variety of classes are available.
Crane’s Country Store in Williamsburg is the perfect supplier of quality outerwear and gear for people who work and play outside. From boots, bullets, britches and bologna, the Crane family has been outfitting Callawegians since 1889.
For the sentimentalist, explore Green Meadow Barn Company just outside Fulton. Carolyn Linton is a master maker who preserves the heritage and ambiance of old barns and homesteads by transforming the reclaimed wood into exquisite future heirlooms.
